Merging PR #190 produced NO auto-version run — the pull_request:closed webhook never reached Actions. v0.54.0 was created manually via the releases API as an idempotent fallback. PR #189 fired the workflow normally minutes earlier, so the gap is intermittent. Suspects: API-merge + immediate head-branch deletion racing the closed-event dispatch, or event-queue drop under concurrent scheduled runs. Acceptance: two consecutive API-merged no-bump PRs must both produce release runs; add push-triggered release check (master version != latest tag) as a safety net. Verify: merge any no-bump PR and see an auto-version run within ~1 minute.
