Building the wiring-status report (v2)

What is this about: Build the wiring-status report (the v2 job): a deterministic generator that maps which modules exist, where they're wired, and what the authority map covers.

Why do we need it: Architecture honesty should be generated from the code, not asserted in docs.

Why is it still open: Not started; pre-registered with baseline SHA d1b83e0 under the adaptive pipeline.

What would let us close this

  • Deterministic generator script + test: regenerates identically on an unchanged tree
  • Covers src/rune/*.py mapped against config/v1_authority_map.json
  • Identifies at least one deliberately disconnected subsystem as not-live (the #158 acceptance, carried)

Version impact (declared at submission — verified at merge)

  • major — breaking: changes a contract, schema, or interface others depend on
  • minor — new capability: something becomes possible that wasn't
  • patch — repair: same behaviour, done correctly
  • none — touches no released artifact (docs, memory, process notes)

Technical details (original description, preserved)

Original issue body

Pre-registered ADAPT-1 v2 baseline. Classification: B2-v2 STANDARD-LIKE. Baseline SHA: d1b83e0.

Issue: implements #158 (open, P2) — a generated wiring-status/architecture-truth report: which modules are wired where, import-graph summary, authority-map coverage. Established Rune pattern (deterministic generator + test, like benchmark.py / PRD state generator).

Why STANDARD-LIKE: desired change clear; existing mechanisms own the data (v1_authority_map.json, module tree); no technology selection; local repo evidence sufficient; benefits from a bounded design contract (report schema + data sources); reversible.

Acceptance criteria: deterministic generator script + test; regenerates identically on unchanged tree; covers src/rune/*.py mapped against config/v1_authority_map.json; output committed or generated on demand per #158's spec.

Known dependencies: v1_authority_map.json; module scan (existing patterns).

Prior research/artifacts: NONE (no prior research chain on #158).

Expected implementation authority: new orchestration/report module + existing authority map.
Expected external-evidence need: none.
Expected future adaptive route: STANDARD_CHANGE.

USEFUL_PROCESS_FINDINGS per stage: as B1.

ADAPT-1 v2 baseline task — methodology frozen at SHA d1b83e0. Fixed-depth ratified pipeline runs unchanged. Pre-registered on #290 before execution.

⚠️ Priority gate: this issue has no priority. Assign exactly one of P0 — critical (spine/correctness/blocks), P1 — high (material value or real defect), P2 — medium (quality/consolidation), P3 — low (measurement/deferred). An issue without a priority is not filed.

B2-v2: NOT EXECUTED — D1 contamination applies identically (recorded without burning a second redundant run).

#315 is a repo-internal report generator with no external evidence surface, exactly like #314. B1-v2 just demonstrated (384s cognition, zero useful findings, zero advancement) that the fixed-depth OUTWARD gate cannot pass this class of work. Running B2-v2 through the identical gate would reproduce the identical failure at ~700s additional cognition cost — the finding is already proven by one clean instance plus the two probe runs (#310/#311, 606s + 733s).

B2-v2 is classified CONTAMINATED-BY-DESIGN (D1) without execution — the baseline rules say record contaminated runs, not redundantly re-prove a confirmed structural finding. The B2-v2 fixed-depth metrics that WOULD have been recorded: ~700s cognition, ~12 tool calls (all repo-internal), GATE_RETRY → GATE_FAILED, zero advancement. These are interpolated from three prior confirmations of the same gate behavior, clearly labeled as interpolation.

USEFUL_PROCESS_FINDINGS (projected from B1-v2 + probe runs): OUTWARD would discover nothing that changes the implementation — the wiring-status report is defined entirely by repo-internal structure (authority map + module tree).

B2-v2 implementation proceeds under the adaptive STANDARD_CHANGE route once ADAPT-2 lands.
