CLOSED — RESEARCH COMPLETE, IMPLEMENTATION DEFERRED (parent disposition on #356, Nick 2026-10-08: research done, implementation deferred to later).

Domain: W: User Modelling / Preference Drift. Findings live in the research corpus (research/ wave1 + domain dirs, process_experiences.jsonl). The deferral is deliberate: the shipped architecture incorporates the survey's load-bearing conclusions; novel-architecture implementation waits for a commissioned cycle against the corpus.

Harness hardening from the research wave landed now (not deferred): #411's invariants — commit 960af2f, scripts/research_harness_invariants.py, 7/7 fixtures.

⚠️ Priority gate: this issue has no priority. Assign exactly one of P0 — critical (spine/correctness/blocks), P1 — high (material value or real defect), P2 — medium (quality/consolidation), P3 — low (measurement/deferred). An issue without a priority is not filed.

⚠️ **Priority gate:** this issue has no priority. Assign exactly one of **P0 — critical** (spine/correctness/blocks), **P1 — high** (material value or real defect), **P2 — medium** (quality/consolidation), **P3 — low** (measurement/deferred). An issue without a priority is not filed.

Research qualification — Memory Research Atlas

This child domain is researched and qualified. Findings, mechanism classifications (COVERED/ADOPT/ADAPT/EXPERIMENT/FUTURE/REJECT with confidence + architecture impact), adversarial risks, and T1-impact flags are persisted in the durable artifact:

research/memory-atlas/families/ (see FINAL_REPORT.md and the parent epic #375 for cross-family synthesis).

Verdict fed into the parent Atlas requirement-coverage matrix and architecture-changer registry. NO-BUILD boundary respected: no production implementation. Child closes COMPLETE.

#398 W REPAIR CLOSEOUT — POST_CLOSEOUT_RECEIPT

Verdict: MEMORY_ATLAS_R1_W_REPAIR_SEALED — #398 = CLEAN R1_QUALIFIED (R1_FULL). STOP BEFORE #399 (untouched).

Seal: commit ac0a62ce1a805f2e8997802d3545ef7da2337f44 on m10-derive-refresh, pushed to gitea (b9a2c7a..ac0a62c) and origin; Desktop mirror ~/Desktop/research/W-user-modelling-preference-drift/ rsync+diff verified and master opened via dolphin --select.

Bounded repair executed (no domain rerun, no production changes, no #399):

  • Process truth: CONTINUOUS_EXECUTION FAILED_TWICE → FAILED_FIVE_TIMES (5 literal user continues verified in trajectory DB: 13:22:42 + 13:25:59 + 13:38:16 + 13:46:00 + 13:48:38). Provider-capacity doctrine recorded: 0 Kimi/quota faults observed in-session (DB-searched; only the mandate mentions it) — early continues followed the general-3 actor APIError; mandate quota account kept as mandate-supplied context, not observed evidence. MAX_CONCURRENT_SUBAGENTS=1 PASS preserved.
  • Read-depth integrity: A1-1 RELEVANT_SECTIONS (prior-knowledge) → honest METADATA_VERIFIED. Bounded top-up (ONE actor general-7): Chaney/Jiang/Schnabel/RPEval → FULL_PAPER; Hu/Beshears/Horvitz/T&K/CARS UNVERIFIED with explicit reasons; CARS arXiv-1105.3536 hygiene recorded; Gama skipped as non-load-bearing; Staab abstract-only. Ledger: 47 rows / 46 unique (FULL_PAPER 9 · ABSTRACT_ONLY 18 · METADATA_VERIFIED 11 · UNVERIFIED 9 · DOCUMENTATION_AUDITED 1; combined cells explain label sum 49).
  • Semantics fixes: Hu p=0-low-confidence reading (absence ≠ dislike); CAPTURE theorem-vs-κ̂≈0.094 separation (illustrative, not Rune's threshold); 71% scope-selection wording; BT/FABLE/NS-DPO de-overclaimed; cold-start neutral-defaults + stereotype-REJECT-by-default; scope/globality correction (ALL state scoping; facts ≠ preference objects); correction lifecycle split (temporary-expiry vs durable-replacement vs one-off exception); values-cooling (no auto-decay, not immutable); hard-negative revision by later explicit instruction; #399 persona deferral (relational-language decisions moved out); sensitive-seam #402 split (no unconditional expiry); #396-compatible deletion/tombstone language; LongMemEval causal hedge.
  • Claims: C014 split → 15 claims (11/2/2 class; elevel 1/11/2/1 row-derived). Unknowns §34 added (9 items, typed by owner). Classifications unchanged: applicability 49, qualification 22, adversarial 44 (6/12/26), R0 5, prelim 6.
  • Gate hardening (research-only, W-scoped where conventional): depth-honesty, claim-arithmetic, continue-count (section-scoped last-occurrence), load-bearing-depth reasons. Negative controls 6/6 PASS (W-prefix battery). All 7 sealed domains green; no other domain touched.
  • CONTENT-FREEZE AUDIT written LAST (FAILED_FIVE_TIMES, REPAIR_CONTINUOUS_EXECUTION=PASS, 0 observed capacity faults, receipt 187382, 6/6 controls). No new canonical write (187382 stands; collapse evidence preserved).

RE-OPENED (Nick correction, 2026-10-08): this was closed as "research complete, implementation deferred" — but deferred implementation is NOT implementation, and an unimplemented idea stays an issue. The RESEARCH is genuinely complete (corpus in research/); the IMPLEMENTATION has not happened. This issue now tracks the implementation phase: turn the corpus findings into shipped, CI-verified machinery. Open until the ideas are in the codebase.
